Thank you for choosing to be part of our community at Daily Info Deck (“we”, “us”, or “our”). We are committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. This Privacy Policy applies to our mobile application, Daily Info Deck – Magazine (the “App”).

By downloading and using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in relation to this policy.

1. Information We Collect and How We Use It

Our App is designed to provide you with news, articles, and real-time information. We do not require you to create an account, nor do we collect personal identification information such as your name, email address, or phone number.

However, to provide specific features, the App does request certain permissions and collects non-personal data:

Location Data: To provide the “Live Ticker” feature (local Weather and Air Quality Index), the App requests access to your device’s location (Fine and Coarse). We do not store your location on our servers. Your coordinates are only sent securely to third-party weather APIs (Open-Meteo) to fetch the current temperature and AQI for your immediate display.
Device & Usage Data: We use Google Firebase Cloud Messaging to send push notifications when new articles are published. Firebase generates a unique, anonymous “Push Token” for your device to ensure the message reaches you.
Log Data: In the event of an error in the App, we may collect data and information on your phone called Log Data. This may include information such as your device Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, device name, operating system version, the configuration of the app, and the time and date of your use of the service.

The App uses third-party services that may collect information used to identify you, serve advertisements, or provide app functionality.

3. Advertising (Google AdMob)

Our App uses Google AdMob to display advertisements. AdMob may use cookies, device identifiers (such as the Android Advertising ID), and location data to serve personalized or non-personalized ads based on your interests and usage patterns.

Users can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google’s Ads Settings on their Android device (Settings > Google > Ads > Opt out of Ads Personalization).

Our App contains articles that may link to external websites. If you click on a third-party link, you will be directed to that site. Note that these external sites are not operated by us. Therefore, we strongly advise you to review the Privacy Policy of these websites. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services.

5. Children’s Privacy

These Services do not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13 years of age. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we immediately delete this from our servers. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

We value your trust in providing us your information, thus we are striving to use commercially acceptable means of protecting it. But remember that no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure and reliable, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. These changes are effective immediately after they are posted on this page.
